Welcome to Orthodontists San Jose!
There are dozens of orthodontists and hundreds of dental professionals in the San Jose, California area. When you do a search in Google or Bing you are instantly confronted with listing after listing, a map with layers of locations, and no obvious clues as to which professional is better than any other.
How then do you decide which one to go to when you or a family member needs treatment?
Often your dentist will refer you to an orthodontist. If so, ask them “Why do you recommend this one? What, if any, incentive do you get? Are there any others in my area you can recommend?” While most people believe there is nothing wrong with a dentist receiving some kind of referral fee for patients sent to an orthodontist, they should freely disclose such incentives and there should be good reasons beyond the incentive for sending you there!
If your dentist gives you several options, or if you are looking for an orthod0ntist on your own, the first thing is to take a look at the map that accompanies your search results and see which offices are in reasonable proximity to your home or office. With so many to choose from, you can probably compile a list of five or more to research further.
Once you have your list, go to each of their “Place Pages” in Google or the “Bing Local” listings in Bing. Take a look at the business details and especially any reviews. A good professional will usually have a lot of reviews.
Now go directly onto each of the orthodontic websites and take a look at their distinctives, specialties and professional designations and associations. If you can find an orthodontist who excelled academically, has received scholarships and awards, been involved in teaching orthodontics and is part of several relevant associations and societies, you can be sure you are looking at an orthodontist who excells in their profession and will likely provide up to date treatment options. For example, take a look at the biography of this San Jose 95123 orthodontist.
No matter where you live in the San Jose area, you are probably not far from a good orthodontist. But don’t just settle for the absolute closest; do some research and find one that can offer the specialized and current treatments you and your family deserve.
